There was a discounted entry price of $7.00 for the meal of Smoked Chicken & Dumplings and Local Market Vegetables with Meyer Lemon prepared by award-winning guest Chef Jeff Mattia of Hyatt Regency New Orleans. According to Chef Mattia, he chose this dish because it was, “One of the dishes I used
to enjoy eating while deployed overseas. I also served this dish at numerous military
events while I was the Chef at American Sector.” The event featured Captain Rodgers, an icon from WWII.

Chef Scott Goodstal of Sodexo and Chef Travis Johnson of Tulane University, recipient of “Chef of the Year 2015″ from the American Culinary Federation and District Executive Chef for Sodexo were also present. Chef Johnson explained that Sodexo being part of this event was a natural fit due to the “Spirit of Service” being one of Sodexo’s core values. In fact, in 2009 Sodexo launched the employee network group HONOR (Honoring Our Nation’s Finest with Opportunity and Respect) whose mission is to provide support, guidance and resources to employees and families connected to the military. “Day For The Brave” ~ Hosted by Razoo

On Veteran’s Day 2015, Razoo and CDR launched a 24-hour day of giving to honor those that have served our country.

This campaign put focus on veterans’ service organizations across the United States that provide much needed services and support to veterans and their families. The goal was to create a national movement of giving back to support our Veteran’s and the nonprofits that serve them every day.

Our veterans answered our nation’s call and served us courageously. They put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms we all enjoy. They have proven their devotion to us and to our country. We owe them the same respect and devotion in return. This Day for the Brave campaign is a dedicated effort to bring together nonprofits and individuals around the country to give back to support our nation’s veterans. This Veterans Day, please give back to America’s heroes. Support We Heart Veterans!
